Happy Earth Day! Did you know The Salads roots begin on a Carrot & Onion farm? When we started back in 1988 as wee lads we would jam at The Ziembas farm in The Holland Marsh just north of Toronto, Canada. Here is a pic taken in 1997 in the black earth that makes up these awesome farms. @TheSalads are so damn Earthy!
It wasn`t only Earth Week this week, it was also the 10th anniversary of The Dean Blundell Show in Toronto @DBlundellShow on The Edge 102.1 FM. The Salads all love this show, it`s especially awesome for us when they have our drummer, @Darrin99, on the show to demonstrate his love of mustard. You`ll have to stay tuned to the show to hear what I`m talking about. Anyhow, these guys are hilarious. Recently I started playing in a Clash cover band with Darrin Pfieffer @darrin99 and Mikey Hawdon who is currently on tour with DUSTIN JONES & THE RISING TIDE@djrisingtide. Thanks to this gig I've learned how great the Clash really are and how everything The Salads have written was originally invented by The Clash. We have some friends that can seriously play! @TheSalads used to do a lot of gigs with a great band called ZYGOTE! Their Bass Player Amir is about as good as it gets! The guy is awesome. Super fun watching him rip it up back in the day with his curly black ringlettes shaking all about. hahaha... Recently Amir joined a band called Crash Karma. Made up of ex I Mother Earth vocalist EDWIN, Jeff from Tea Party on Drums and the original guitar player from Our Lady Peace. These guys are making huge waves on radio across Canada. What kicks the most ass in this video is that we get a good look at his super fancy hairdo from back in the day. That must of been a lot of work dude!

We were lucky enough to have him join us for a day of shooting a video for our song "Growing Up". What a rad guy! He is also a great record producer and even hosts his own show on AUX TV called Master Tracks which we would LOVE to be a part of! Man would it be fun to record a tune with Moe! When we were in Cleveland on Warped 2007 we found Dr. Madd Vibe at his tent and asked if he'd join us on stage for a tune and he fucking did!! Unbelievable!! There is nothing much better than playing music together outside on a nice day and with the Doctor in the house it was over-the-top! Angelo turned around to us when we suggested this tune and said "I've never done a Fishbone song with another band". This was a dream come true and tons of fun.

Our friend @ASHESBAND is on tour with Classified in Canada right now. Think she's headed to Grand Prairie Alberta today. Her tweets are live and real and super rad to follow, so do it, now!! I had the good fortune of getting to play bass with her at a bunch of rehearsals when she started showcasing and it was fucking great! She kicked my ass every single time. I remember her laying on the ground of the room at Cherry Beach from exhaustion... amazing. Go see her!
Time for what I like to call the worlds best Drunkabilly Band! DUSTIN JONES & THE RISING TIDE! Follow them @djrisingtide . They are on tour and Dustin is tweeting from the road, hotel bed, and stage. Expect the unexpected. They are amazing and have a new record out called Whiskey Is Our Sun. This video is all footage taken from Warped Tour 2010. It is for their new single "ALRIGHT". This band is awesome and they are wicked guys.
And then there is our boy @Choclair Hailing from the T Dot with whom we had the honor of playing this amazing tune "Made to Move Mountains". It was at the Haiti Benefit show at The Sound Academy in Toronto last year and it was incredible. Dude had my hair standing on end the entire time. Love this song. His tweets are all his own. You get to go clubbing with him and experience his shows his way. It's pretty sweet.
